Featuring the blended voices of the beauties from Minneapolis, this series first greeted radio listeners on New Year’s Eve 1944. Sisters Laverne, Maxine and Patti were joined by a different special guest each week. They were frequently visited by other singers, such as Ethel Merman, Bing Crosby, and Sophie Tucker, but other performers would drop by as well. In fact, on one episode, the comedians Lou Abbot and Bud Costello emerged from the “N-K Green Room” to perform their legendary “Who’s on First?” routine. Of course, the Andrews Sisters did most of the performing and singing themselves. Among other tunes, audiences could count on hearing “Apple Blossom Time” which was a big hit for the ladies and the theme song of their show. Originally Performed on 11/28/1945
